Is sex good for pregnancy?

I am in my first trimester, and my husband is quite worried about doing anything that might harm the baby. My friends have different opinions about intimacy during this time. Can sex actually be beneficial or 'good' for a pregnancy?

I always say, anything that brings happiness and comfort is good, as long as it's safe. But during pregnancy, the body changes so much, so I'd be very careful and always check with the gynaecologist. It's similar to how we choose our food so carefully for the baby's health.

I totally get why you'd ask this, there's so much misinformation out there. For most healthy pregnancies, it's actually quite safe and can even be beneficial for bonding and stress relief. But if there are any complications, your doctor will advise against it. Always consult your gynaecologist.

Look, with pregnancy, you absolutely cannot rely on internet advice or 'what people say'. Every pregnancy is unique. The only person who can tell you if it's safe and good for *your* specific situation is your gynaecologist. Please get proper medical advice.

Generally, yes, it's considered safe and can even help with pelvic muscle strength and mood. Unless your doctor has specifically advised against it due to complications like placenta previa or risk of preterm labor, there's usually no issue. Just communicate with your partner and doctor.

For many, it's fine and can be good for intimacy. Just be gentle and listen to your body. Always check with your doctor to be sure.

My older sister was pregnant recently, and she said her doctor told her it was totally fine unless there were specific problems. It's like, normal physical activity, no? But yeah, always get doc's approval for anything during pregnancy.
