Is pregnancy 10 months?

I'm expecting my first baby and keeping track of my pregnancy. My mother-in-law keeps saying pregnancy is 10 months. Is pregnancy really 10 months long, or is it shorter?

It is actually calculated as 40 weeks, which is roughly 9 calendar months but technically 10 lunar months. Please make sure you are keeping track of your weeks closely and never miss your monthly checkups. I once ignored minor cramps thinking I had time, and it led to early complications.

Yes, medically they count 40 weeks starting from your last period, which is about 280 days. During this beautiful period of 9 to 10 months, gentle breathing exercises and deep breathing can help keep both mother and child calm and healthy.

Technically, pregnancy is about 40 weeks, which runs slightly into a 10th month if you count 4-week blocks. It is just a matter of how the dates are calculated. Your gynecologist will give you the most accurate estimated due date based on your ultrasound scans.

Don't get confused by the 9 or 10 months debate, dear. Doctors count by weeks because it is more precise for baby's development, so 40 weeks is the standard. Just focus on your regular checkups and enjoy the journey day by day.

In our families, we always say 9 months and 9 days, but doctors calculate by weeks which goes up to 40 weeks. Eat fresh fruits, almonds, and stay hydrated throughout this journey. But if you feel any sudden pain or fluid leakage, go straight to the hospital.

Actually yaar, it is technically 40 weeks which is almost 10 months if you count 4 weeks as one month. But everyone casually just says 9 months. It's just different ways of calculating the same timeline!
