Is pooping a sign of pregnancy or period?

I'm confused about what my body is doing. My period hasn't come, and I've been having loose motions and pooping a lot. Is pooping more a sign of pregnancy or could it just be my period coming?

Both pregnancy and periods can cause changes in bowel movements due to hormonal fluctuations. So, just pooping itself isn't a specific sign for either. It's more about other accompanying symptoms and a pregnancy test for clarity.

With my thyroid issues, I've learned that hormones affect everything, including digestion. Both pre-period and early pregnancy involve significant hormonal shifts that can alter bowel habits—sometimes constipation, sometimes looser stools. So, 'pooping' alone is not a reliable indicator for either. It's best to track your cycle and take a pregnancy test if your period is delayed, and consult your doctor for any unusual or persistent symptoms.

Beta, when the body prepares for period or new life, many changes happen inside. Digestion is one of them. Sometimes before period, stomach can feel loose, and in early pregnancy also, some women feel different with their stools. So, only 'pooping' is not a clear sign for either. Look for other clear signs, and do a test if needed. Drink warm water, it always helps.

I had complications in my first pregnancy, so I always advocate extreme caution. While both periods and early pregnancy can affect digestion due to hormonal shifts, 'pooping' alone is not a reliable indicator for either. If you have any doubts, or if your periods are delayed, please see a doctor immediately. Don't wait or self-diagnose; it's very important to rule out or confirm things early for your health and safety.

Dekho, hamare gaon mein bhi log aise sawal puchte hain. Period aane se pehle aur jab pregnancy hoti hai, dono time pet mein thoda gadbad ho sakta hai. Kabhi loose motion, kabhi kabz. Toh sirf potty aana koi pakka sign nahi hai. Baaki signs dekho aur agar doubt hai toh test kar lo ya doctor ko dikha do, woh sabse sahi baat batayenge.

I'm still learning about my body and all these changes. So, if both can cause digestive changes, how do you even tell the difference without taking a test? Are there other digestive symptoms that are more specific to one or the other?

This is a super common question! Hormonal changes before a period (PMS) and in early pregnancy can both definitely affect your digestion, leading to varied bowel movements. So, just 'pooping' isn't a unique sign for either. You need to look at the whole picture—missed period, morning sickness, breast tenderness for pregnancy, or typical PMS symptoms for period. A home pregnancy test is the quickest and most reliable way to know for sure if it's pregnancy.
