Is ozempic only for diabetics?

My cousin, who doesn't have diabetes but is trying to lose weight, asked me if he could take Ozempic. I always thought it was primarily for people with diabetes. Is Ozempic only for diabetics?

Actually, while Ozempic is primarily used for Type 2 diabetes to help manage blood sugar, it also has a significant effect on weight loss. So, sometimes doctors prescribe it off-label for weight management, but it's not its main indication. Always under medical supervision, of course.

I've seen some fitness influencers talking about it for weight loss, but my health app says it's officially for T2D. It definitely helps with appetite control and satiety, which leads to weight loss. But yeah, doc has to prescribe it, it's not a general supplement.

My family always says to trust the doctor completely for these matters. Ozempic is mainly for diabetes, but sometimes doctors use it for weight too if they think it's right for the person. Best to ask your own physician about your specific health needs.

Only for diabetics? Haan, mostly, but if it made me look like a supermodel, I'd probably 'develop' some diabetes symptoms too, haha! Kidding aside, it's a serious drug, so please only take it if a proper doctor says so, for whatever reason.

Ho na, it's mainly for diabetes. But I've heard some people get it for weight loss if they have other health issues related to it. It's all about what the doctor decides after checking everything properly. Don't self-medicate, haan?

I don't know about specific medical uses, but I know someone who was prescribed it for their diabetes. They also lost some weight, which was an added benefit. So it seems like it helps with both, but the main reason was diabetes for them.

Such medicines are expensive, bhai. If it's for diabetes, it makes sense. If it's just for weight loss for non-diabetics, then you need to think about the cost and if it's really worth it long-term. Better to explore other options first if possible.

Look, time is money and health is wealth. While its primary use is for diabetes, if your doctor, after reviewing your case, thinks it's suitable for weight management even without diabetes, then it's a valid path. But don't just jump into it without proper consultation.

I wish it was for sleep too, then I'd be first in line! But no, it's for diabetes. The weight loss part is a bonus, I guess. My doctor said it's a powerful drug, so definitely not a casual thing to take for just a few kgs.

My cousin's child has type 2 diabetes and was prescribed Ozempic. It really helped control her sugar levels and she also lost a good amount of weight. So, it's definitely for diabetes, with weight loss as a strong side effect.

Well, it was developed for Type 2 diabetes to help manage blood sugar levels. However, it's known to cause weight loss, and in some countries, it's approved for obesity too. In India, it would be up to your doctor's discretion based on your health profile.

Hey, don't worry too much about what you read online. Ozempic helps with diabetes, yes. And because it also helps with weight, some doctors might use it in specific cases for weight loss. But it's always a medical decision, not something to self-prescribe.
