Is orajel ok during pregnancy?

I'm three months pregnant and suddenly got a terrible toothache. I have some Orajel at home. Is Orajel okay to use during pregnancy for temporary relief? I'm worried about anything affecting the baby.

Please do not use Orajel or any benzocaine-containing products during pregnancy without checking with your obstetrician first. Many local anesthetics can absorb into the bloodstream, and safety during pregnancy is always the top priority.

During my pregnancy, I had severe gum pain but my gynecologist advised against using OTC gels like Orajel. It is much safer to get a quick dental consult. Don't risk self-medicating, especially when pregnant.

I am also in my second trimester and had severe toothache last week. I almost used Orajel but then got so scared about the chemical affecting the baby. Did anyone else's doctor tell them it's safe, or did you use home remedies?

During pregnancy, it is always best to avoid strong English medicines and gels. If you have tooth pain, try holding a single clove near the painful tooth or do a warm salt water rinse. These traditional ways are completely safe for the baby.

I panicked so much when I accidentally used Orajel once before checking if it was safe. My doctor calmed me down and said a tiny amount once won't harm, but advised not to use it regularly. Just speak to your doctor for peace of mind.

In pregnancy, we must be very careful with what we put on our body. It is better not to use these strong gels from the shop. Please ask your lady doctor before buying anything for the pain.
