Is nausea in pregnancy a sign of a girl?

I'm pregnant and have been having a lot of morning sickness, mostly nausea. My mother-in-law says if you have a lot of nausea during pregnancy, it means you're having a baby girl. Is there any truth to this old wives' tale?

In our family, elders used to say that severe morning sickness means a baby girl is coming. But my doctor explained clearly that every pregnancy is different and it only depends on how your body reacts to the hormones. Trust your doctor's advice and focus on staying healthy.

Actually, nausea is just due to high hCG hormone levels, not the baby's gender. When I was pregnant and managing my high sugar, managing nausea was tough because I had to eat small, frequent meals. Try to focus on low-GI foods and regular sugar monitoring rather than these old sayings.

These are just old myths and there is no scientific basis to it, so don't spend money on useless prediction kits. Save your budget for the actual hospital scans and delivery costs instead. Nausea is just a natural reaction to rising pregnancy hormones, regardless of the baby's gender.

I am currently in my first trimester and experiencing a lot of morning sickness, so I was also wondering about this. Is there any specific week when this nausea usually starts to get better? I am finding it a bit hard to manage my daily routine right now.

My wife also had severe nausea and we ignored it thinking it was just a normal sign of a baby girl as our relatives said. She became extremely weak and had to be hospitalized for IV fluids. Please don't rely on these old tales; if the sickness is too much, see your doctor immediately.

With our busy work schedules, managing morning sickness is a real challenge. Don't waste your precious time researching these gender myths online because there is zero scientific proof. Just focus on practical things like keeping dry crackers at your desk and staying hydrated during office hours.

I completely understand how exhausting the constant nausea is, and how we look for any distraction or fun myth to keep our spirits up. But please don't worry about whether it is a boy or a girl based on this. Just take it one day at a time, your body is doing some amazing, heavy work.

Please don't focus on these gender myths and instead monitor how severe your nausea is. If you are vomiting too much and cannot even keep water down, you might have hyperemesis gravidarum. It is very important to get checked by your obstetrician to prevent dehydration.

I had three children, and my morning sickness was completely different each time regardless of their gender. Don't stress yourself with these old stories, my child. Just rest as much as you can, eat small portions of whatever you can digest, and enjoy this beautiful phase.

My elder sister had zero nausea and had a girl, and her friend had terrible vomiting and had a boy! It is basically just an old wives' tale with a 50-50 chance. Don't worry too much about these myths, just enjoy the process and stay hydrated.

Nausea has nothing to do with the baby's gender, it is entirely hormonal. From a dietary perspective, try eating bland, dry vegetarian foods like toast or roasted makhana in the morning. Avoid strong-smelling spices and greasy foods, which can trigger your gag reflex very easily.

My wife's gynecologist at the hospital laughed when we asked about this and said it is completely a myth. Nausea is just a sign of a growing pregnancy and has zero relation to gender. Please consult your doctor directly about safe medications if the nausea is affecting your sleep.
