Is native body wash good for eczema?

My son has really sensitive skin and eczema patches, especially after bathing. My sister recommended a 'native' brand body wash. Is native body wash generally good for people with eczema?

I just dealt with a bad eczema flare-up on my arms last month. Honestly, even though Native is marketed as natural, the added fragrances triggered my itching badly. I had to switch back to a completely soap-free, dermatologically tested cleanser.

It can be too drying because of the coconut-derived cleansers. Better to use a heavy moisturizing wash prescribed by a dermatologist.

Native body wash has fewer harsh chemicals, but many of their variants contain strong fragrances which are a big trigger for eczema-prone skin. Try to look for their 'unscented' version if you really want to try it, or stick to medical-grade moisturizing washes.

My skin has been very dry and itchy lately, so I was looking for a gentle body wash. Does Native lather well, and is the unscented one easily available in India, or do we have to order it from abroad?

Look, eczema skin needs medical care, not fancy imported body washes. Native has nice smells but it won't cure your eczema. Save your money and buy a proper Cetaphil or local pharmacy moisturizing bar instead.

I agree that the fragranced ones might irritate your skin. If you use it, definitely follow up with a thick ceramide moisturizer immediately after bathing.

I have seen many fancy skin products come and go over the years. For dry, itchy skin conditions, nothing works better than using very lukewarm water, avoiding strong soaps altogether, and applying pure virgin coconut oil right after your bath.
