Is lack of hunger a sign of pregnancy?

My appetite has completely vanished, and I feel nauseous at the thought of food, especially in the mornings. I'm wondering if this could be a symptom. Is lack of hunger a sign of pregnancy?

Haha, yes! You'd think pregnancy means eating for two, but in the beginning, even the smell of your favorite food can make you run in the opposite direction. Don't worry, your appetite will definitely return with a vengeance in the second trimester.

Haan beta, starting mein bilkul mann nahi karta kuch khane ka. Scent of tadka or tea can make you feel bad. Just drink simple coconut water or eat some light khichdi when you feel like this. It is very normal in early pregnancy, do not take tension.

I am experiencing this right now and I was getting so worried because everyone else talks about food cravings. I can barely look at food without feeling nauseous. Did anyone else completely lose their appetite in the first month?

Loss of appetite is common due to hormonal changes, but make sure you are still staying hydrated. When my wife went through this, she kept her routine steady with small, frequent meals to keep her BP and energy stable. Don't skip your regular doctor checkups during this time.

I ignored my sudden loss of appetite thinking it was just normal gastric trouble, and it turned out to be a severe deficiency that made me very weak later. If you are missing periods or suspect pregnancy, please get a proper test done immediately. Don't delay your doctor visit.

When you are working long hours, a sudden drop in appetite can make you very weak. If you suspect pregnancy, do a quick home test tomorrow morning. If it's positive, ask your doctor for safe ways to manage nausea so your work doesn't suffer.

Yes, early hormonal changes can really suppress your appetite. If your doctor has cleared you, try going for a gentle 15-minute walk in the morning. Getting fresh air and light movement can help stimulate your digestion and naturally bring back some of your hunger.

While morning sickness and hormonal surges often cause a temporary lack of hunger, it is not a foolproof sign of pregnancy. The only reliable way to know is to take a home pregnancy test. If it is positive, schedule an appointment with your gynecologist to plan your next steps.

Look, simple logic: if you've missed your period and feel like not eating, just buy a pregnancy test card from the chemist. Don't sit and guess based on your appetite. If it's positive, go to a doctor; if negative, maybe it's just acidity.

Our digestive fire, or agni, often slows down during early pregnancy due to hormonal changes. It is very natural to feel less hungry. Try sipping on warm ginger water or practicing gentle deep breathing to soothe your stomach and calm your system.
