Is kava worse for liver than alcohol?

I'm trying to cut down on alcohol but still want something to relax. Someone suggested kava, but then I read it can be bad for the liver. I'm wondering, is kava worse for the liver than alcohol, or is it a safer option?

It's tricky to say 'worse' because both have their own mechanisms of liver damage. However, kava has been linked to severe and acute liver injury in some cases, even in people without prior liver issues, which is concerning. Alcohol's damage is more chronic. So, neither is good, and kava can be quite unpredictable.

Haan, definitely, kuch studies bolti hain ki kava liver ke liye alcohol se bhi zyada dangerous ho sakta hai, specially if you take it regularly. Alcohol toh sabko pata hai bura hai, par kava ke side effects ke baare mein kam log jaante hain. Na hi lo toh behtar hai.

As a parent, I'm always worried about what my kids consume. I tell them both alcohol and kava are risky for the liver. Kava especially has some very serious warnings from health authorities. It's better to avoid both and stick to a healthy lifestyle and diet for liver protection.

Both kava and alcohol pose significant risks to the liver, and if you have any pre-existing conditions like thyroid issues, your liver is already under stress. It's not a matter of which is 'worse' but rather that both should be avoided. Always prioritize regular health check-ups and professional medical advice.

I totally get why you'd ask this, it's confusing with all the different information out there. From what I've seen, kava actually has a pretty bad reputation for liver toxicity, sometimes even more severe than typical alcohol-induced damage. So it's something to be very careful with. Don't risk it if you're unsure.

See, ultimately, neither is good for your liver. If you want a healthy liver, focus on good food, ghar ka khana, thoda exercise and stay away from anything that strains it. Kava has too many warnings, just like alcohol. Simple hai.
