Is it safe to sleep with a heating pad?

My back pain has been really bad lately, especially at night. My physiotherapist suggested using a heating pad. I was thinking of keeping it on while I sleep for continuous relief. Is it safe to sleep with a heating pad on for several hours?

Honestly, I've used heating pads for back pain so many times, and it feels so good! But sleeping with it on the whole night can be risky because of burns or overheating. Maybe set a timer, or use it for a while and then turn it off before you fully fall asleep.

Haan, these days my body always needs some warmth, especially in winters. But sleeping with a heating pad? No, no, it's not safe. Woke up once with a red patch, thought it was a rash, doc said it was mild burn! Now I just warm the bed a bit and switch it off.

My doctor actually warned against sleeping with a heating pad. He said it can cause low-temperature burns, especially if you don't shift much in your sleep. Some also have auto-off features, which are better, but still, prolonged use isn't recommended. It can also dry out your skin.

Bro, if I could just sleep, I'd probably sleep on a bed of nails if it guaranteed rest! But seriously, heating pads are nice, par pura raat on rakhna thoda dangerous ho sakta hai. Burns ka risk rehta hai. Better to use it for limited time.

Like for BP, we need to monitor things, same for heating pads. My doctor said it's okay for short periods for muscle pain, but not to sleep with it. The prolonged heat can cause skin damage. Better to use it for an hour and then remove it before you doze off completely.
