Is it possible to get pregnant during pregnancy?

I saw a strange meme online asking if it's possible to get pregnant while already pregnant. It sounds completely impossible to me, but I wanted to confirm. Is there any medical explanation or is it just a myth?

Technically, no, you can't get 'pregnant during pregnancy' in the usual sense because once you're pregnant, ovulation stops. But there's a very rare phenomenon called superfetation where it happens, like super rare. For most women, it's not a concern. Always best to discuss any worries with your gynaecologist.

The common understanding is that once pregnancy is established, hormonal changes prevent further ovulation, so concurrent pregnancy is generally not possible. However, there are extremely rare instances, medically termed superfetation. For any specific queries or unusual symptoms, medical consultation is indispensable.

Logically, it doesn't happen because your body stops ovulating once you're pregnant. But I've heard of extremely rare medical cases, like one in a million, where it might. Don't worry about it, for all practical purposes, once you're pregnant, you're not getting pregnant again. But if you have concerns, talk to your doctor.

Haan na, ye kaise hoga? Jab already pregnant ho toh periods toh ruk jaate hain, toh new pregnancy kaise? Itna toh mujhe bhi pata hai. Medical terms mein bahut rare chances hote hain, but normal insaan ke liye toh impossible hi samajh lo. Tension na lo!

Usually no, because your body stops ovulating. Getting pregnant twice within one pregnancy is like winning a super lottery, almost never happens. Don't stress, and don't waste money on extra tests for this unless a doctor specifically tells you to for a very rare reason.

I go to Apollo for my check-ups, and they always say to ask all your questions clearly. While it's almost impossible to get pregnant again while already pregnant, due to how the body works, if you're really worried, just ask your gynaecologist directly. They can explain it best and put your mind at ease.
