Is it okay to put alcohol on eczema?

I've had eczema on my hands for years, and sometimes it gets really itchy and inflamed. My grandmother always suggested putting a little bit of alcohol on it to dry it out and disinfect. Is it okay to put alcohol on eczema patches?

Hey, absolutely not! Alcohol will sting like crazy on eczema and actually dry out your skin even more, which is the last thing you want. Don't stress too much, but for eczema, moisture is key. Use emollients or consult a derm, okay?

I totally get wanting to try anything for relief from eczema, it can be so itchy and painful. But alcohol will probably just sting and dry out your skin even more, making it worse. It's really not advisable. Focus on moisturizing and things that soothe it instead.

Na baba, alcohol is not good for eczema. Woh toh aur dryness badha dega, aur burn bhi karega. Eczema wali skin already sensitive hoti hai. Doctor ne jo cream di hai, wahi lagao ya koi good moisturizer, ho na? Don't experiment with alcohol.

No, it's not okay. Alcohol is a drying agent and an irritant, which is exactly what sensitive, eczematous skin doesn't need. It can exacerbate the condition and cause significant discomfort. Use appropriate, dermatologist-recommended creams and moisturizers instead.

Definitely not, I've had eczema for years. Alcohol will irritate your skin, dry it out, and probably cause more flare-ups. Stick to emollients, prescribed steroid creams if needed, and moisturize religiously. Lukewarm showers, gentle cleansers, and avoiding harsh chemicals are far more effective.

For skin issues like eczema, external applications should be very specific. Alcohol is way too harsh. Focus on keeping the skin hydrated, use gentle products, and check your diet for any triggers. Proper skincare and a balanced diet are key, not random harsh liquids.

Please, don't fall for any internet advice suggesting alcohol for eczema! That's a huge no-no. It's an irritant and will make it much worse. Always verify with a dermatologist. Eczema treatment is very specific, not something to experiment with.
