Is it okay to eat spicy food during pregnancy?

I'm pregnant, and my cravings for spicy food are through the roof these days! My mother-in-law is worried it might harm the baby or cause acidity. Is it okay to eat spicy food during pregnancy, or should I control my cravings?

I totally get it, pregnancy cravings can be wild! If you're used to spicy food and it doesn't give you heartburn or tummy issues, it's usually fine. But if it causes discomfort, it's better to ease up. Listen to your body, it tells you a lot.

Haan ji, generally it's okay na. Agar aapko acidity ya heartburn nahin ho raha, toh you can have it. Bas thoda moderation mein khao. Don't overdo it, and listen to your body. Bachche ko garam nahin lagega andar, woh myths hain.

Small amounts of your usual spicy food should be fine if it doesn't cause you heartburn or indigestion. But if you start feeling any unusual pain or discomfort after eating something very spicy, then it's best to consult your doctor, just to be sure. A mild amount is usually okay.

When my wife was pregnant, she craved biryani like anything! The doc said it's okay as long as it doesn't cause heartburn for her. Some women find it makes morning sickness worse, but if it suits you, go for it. Just keep an eye on how you feel after eating it.

Usually, it's fine unless you experience specific discomfort like severe heartburn or indigestion. The key is moderation and listening to your body. If it causes issues, simply reduce the spice. No need to complicate things too much, just be mindful.

Yaar, actually it's mostly okay. Kuch log bolte hain baby ko mirchi lagegi, but that's a myth. The main thing is if YOU can handle it. Agar acidity ho rahi hai ya heartburn, then avoid. Otherwise, your regular spicy food should be fine. Enjoy your cravings, boss!

Generally, eating spicy food during pregnancy is considered safe, especially if it's something you regularly consumed before pregnancy. The main concern is usually increased heartburn or indigestion for the mother, not direct harm to the baby. However, if you have any existing gastric issues or notice new discomfort, it's best to discuss with your obstetrician.
