Is it ok to use a heating pad during pregnancy?

I've been having some back pain during my pregnancy, especially in the evenings. I usually use a heating pad for relief. Is it okay to use a heating pad while pregnant, or could it be harmful?

Please, pregnancy is such a delicate time. Don't take any chances with heating pads or anything that raises your core body temp. Better to call your doctor's office and ask them directly. Safety first, always.

Honestly, a heating pad might be too much. For aches, my doctor suggested light walking or prenatal yoga if I felt up to it. Always good to check with your Gynae first, they'll know what's best for your body and baby.

Beti, in our time, we just used warm oil massages for backaches during pregnancy. Heating pad ka toh pata nahin. But agar zyada dard hai, toh doctor se baat karo. Unki salah sabse important hai.

Oh god, I was thinking of using one for my backache too but then got scared. Is it really risky? Anyone else used it for a short time and it was okay? My doctor appointment is next week, so confused what to do till then.

For mild aches during pregnancy, maybe try a warm compress with just water? Or a warm bath, not hot. Heating pads can get quite warm na, not sure if that's safe for baby. Simple things are usually better.

My wife used a very low-setting heating pad on her lower back a couple of times for like 10-15 mins during her first pregnancy, long back. But times have changed and doctors know more. Best to ask your gynaecologist, they can advise you correctly.
