Is it normal to have back pain after kidney removal?

I had one of my kidneys removed a few months ago due to some issues, and I still get some back pain on that side. My doctor said it could take time to heal. Is it normal to have back pain after kidney removal?

Hey, don't stress too much, buddy. A major surgery like kidney removal takes a toll on your back muscles because of how you were positioned during the operation. Just rest well, and if the pain gets too intense, call your doctor.

When my relative had their kidney removed, the hospital surgeons clearly explained that some post-operative back pain is common due to the surgical position. However, you must ask your urologist about this to ensure there are no surgical wound infections.

Look, kidney surgery is a massive procedure, so some back pain during recovery is expected. But if the pain is severe, accompanied by fever, or there is blood in your urine, go straight to the hospital. Don't sit around waiting.

I had my left kidney removed six months ago, and I faced severe back pain for the first few weeks. The doctor told me it was healing tissue and muscle soreness from the incision. It got better with time, but do keep your doctor informed.

With my high blood pressure, I have to be very careful with kidney health. Any back pain after such a surgery needs proper monitoring. Keep checking your BP and consult your surgeon to make sure your remaining kidney is functioning perfectly.

I am not an expert on major surgeries, but I know our bodies take a long time to heal internally. Please do not try any heavy stretches or self-medicate. Let your surgical team handle your recovery path safely.

I tried using hot gel packs and natural herbal oils for my post-surgery back pain, but they only gave minor relief. For surgical recoveries, home remedies aren't enough. Please follow only what your doctor has prescribed.

I am so sorry you are going through this painful recovery. It is quite common to have muscle soreness after such a big surgery, but please take complete rest and talk to your doctor about safe pain management.

I don't know much about this, but my uncle is undergoing a similar surgery soon. Is the back pain very sharp, or is it more like a dull ache? I hope you feel better soon, please do ask your doctor about it.

Your posture completely changes after surgery, which my fitness tracker showed through bad sleep patterns and inactivity. Gentle mobility, if approved by your doctor, can help, but please log your pain levels and share them with your surgeon.

After any abdominal or kidney surgery, your core muscles get weak, transferring all the pressure to your lower back. Don't start exercising or lifting weights yet. Let the tissues heal first and ask your doctor for safe rehab movements.

Oh, that sounds incredibly uncomfortable! Major surgeries really take a toll on our posture. Make sure you are using comfortable pillows to support your back while lying down, and definitely give your doctor a quick call to be safe.
