Is it normal for feet to swell during pregnancy?

I'm in my third trimester now, and my feet have started swelling up quite a bit, especially by evening. My mother says it's part of pregnancy, but it's a new thing. Is it normal for feet to swell during pregnancy?

Swelling happens due to increased fluid retention. Sitting with legs elevated and doing gentle ankle rotations or butterfly stretch can help immensely. Just listen to your body and keep your breathing deep and steady.

Yes, it is very common in the second and third trimesters. Just make sure you don't stand for too long and keep your feet elevated on a pillow when resting. Don't worry, we are here to support you.

It is completely normal, but doing a gentle 20-minute daily walk can keep your blood circulation flowing and reduce fluid build-up. Just get the go-ahead from your gynecologist before starting any routine.

I used to cry looking at my swollen feet, feeling like my body wasn't mine anymore. Please know your feelings are valid and you are not alone in this. It gets much better once the baby is here, I promise.

Yes, it's very common. I logged my water intake on my fitness app and made sure to drink at least 3 liters daily; staying hydrated actually helps flush out extra fluids. Give it a try!

My feet looked like balloons in my third trimester. Wearing comfortable, flat slip-on shoes and cutting back on extra sodium in food really helped me manage it. Keep elevating your legs whenever you sit down.

I am in my first trimester and starting to worry about this. Does the swelling start early, or only in the later months? Should I buy bigger sized shoes in advance?

Haan, pregnancy mein pair phoolna toh bohot common hai, na? Bilkul chinta mat karo. Bas thoda namak kam khao aur bed par pillow laga kar so, aaram milega.

I agree, it is very common. Sleeping on your left side also helps improve blood flow and reduces swelling.

While mild swelling is common, sudden swelling in your feet or face can sometimes indicate high blood pressure. At our hospital, doctors always check this immediately. Ask your gynecologist clearly about your BP levels at your next checkup.

It's normal, but don't buy expensive orthopedic footwear for just a few months. Buy budget-friendly, loose slippers one size larger. Save your budget for the actual delivery and lab tests instead.

In our family, we advise pregnant girls to avoid sitting with legs hanging down for long. Massage your feet gently with lukewarm mustard oil before sleeping. But if the swelling is too much, always consult your doctor.
