Is it better to sleep on the floor?

My back has been hurting, and someone suggested that sleeping on the floor might help align my spine. My wife thinks it sounds uncomfortable and possibly bad. Is it actually better or healthier to sleep on the floor?

When I was dealing with severe PCOS back pain, I thought sleeping on the floor would fix it instantly. Honestly, it made my stiffness worse because the surface was too hard. Be careful and start with a thin mat first rather than jumping directly onto the hard floor.

I used to panic thinking I was ruining my spine whenever I slept on the floor during hot summers. But after a few days, my lower back actually felt much more aligned and normal. Don't worry, it is a very common practice in our households and totally fine if your body is comfortable.

Between long office hours and zero time for yoga, I tried sleeping on the floor to cure my bad posture. It works, but the setup and cleanup take time if you have dust allergies. If you are busy, just get a firm orthopedic mattress, it gives the same result without the daily floor cleaning hassle.

My body aches were quite bad due to my thyroid levels acting up, and floor sleeping didn't really help me. I realized that keeping up with my regular blood tests and adjusting my thyroid medication with my doctor was what actually solved the pain. Do get your levels checked if the body pain continues.

Hey, don't stress too much about where you sleep! If your back feels good on the floor, put a nice chatai or a thin mattress down and enjoy. Just make sure there are no cold drafts, and listen to what your body tells you.
