Is it better to sleep hot or cold?
Our AC broke, and now I'm sleeping in a warmer room. My wife says it's better for sleep to be hot, but I prefer it cold. Does sleeping hot or cold actually impact sleep quality or health?

I always sleep with a heavy blanket even in summer because I feel cold easily. Is sleeping in a slightly cooler room really better for our health, or does it just depend on what we are used to?
For proper sleep quality, which is very important for managing blood sugar levels, a cool room is generally much better. Sleeping in a hot room can cause restlessness and raise cortisol levels, which isn't good for health.
Personally, I find sleeping in a cooler room with a light blanket helps regulate my body temperature much better, which is helpful for PCOS night sweats. But everyone's comfort level is different, so find what works for you.
According to my sleep tracker, my deep sleep duration increases significantly when my bedroom temperature is around 20-22 degrees Celsius. A cooler environment mimics the body's natural temperature drop at night.
I used to sleep in a warm room with no AC and wake up drenched in sweat and tired. Recently, I started keeping the room slightly cooler with a fan, and my sleep quality has improved so much.
