Is it bad to smoke during pregnancy?

My bhabhi smokes and she's pregnant, and I'm really worried about the baby. She says it's just a little bit and won't harm anything. But I feel like it must be bad, right?

I was actually reading up on this recently for a family friend. It seems even passive smoking or a single cigarette can reduce the oxygen supply to the baby, which is quite risky. It's definitely something to avoid completely during these nine months.

Yes, it is highly risky for the little one! It's much better to stay away from smoke completely to keep both you and the baby healthy. Try breathing exercises and fresh fruit juices instead when you feel stressed!

Listen, if you are struggling with quitting, please talk to your doctor openly about it without any fear. Don't stress yourself out too much by googling scary things, just take it one day at a time and focus on your baby's health. You can do this!

Honestly, smoking during pregnancy is extremely harmful and can lead to complications like low birth weight. If you or someone you know is pregnant and struggling to quit, please consult your gynecologist immediately for safe ways to manage the cravings.

It is absolutely bad, there are no two ways about it. Nicotine and harmful chemicals directly affect the baby's development. It is best to stop completely and seek professional medical help if quitting is getting difficult.
