Is green tea good for pregnancy?

I'm in my first trimester and trying to be really careful about what I consume. I usually drink green tea, but I'm unsure if it's safe now. Is green tea good for pregnancy, or should I avoid it?

Congratulations on this beautiful phase! Green tea is okay in moderation, but remember it still has some caffeine in it. It is best to stick to just one small cup a day or switch to warm lemon water for a safer option.

From a practical point of view, green tea can hinder the absorption of folic acid, which is highly essential during early pregnancy. If you do drink it, limit it to one cup and keep a gap of a few hours between your tea and prenatal vitamins. Always run this by your obstetrician during your next checkup.

Look, during pregnancy you shouldn't take any unnecessary risks with herbal drinks or extra caffeine. Green tea is not some mandatory health tonic, so if you can avoid it, please do. Just stick to normal, home-cooked food and whatever vitamins your gynecologist has prescribed.

Since I have thyroid issues, my pregnancy was monitored very closely with regular blood tests. My doctor advised me to avoid green tea because it can interfere with medication absorption and iron levels. Please get your regular thyroid and iron panels done and consult your doctor before adding any herbal teas to your diet.

Pregnancy me fancy things avoid hi karo na. Green tea me caffeine hota hai, toh jyada peena thik nahi hai baby ke liye. Haan, agar bohot craving ho toh half cup pi lo kabhi kabhi, but water and fresh coconut water are much safer options anyway.
