Is grapefruit good for pregnancy?

I'm in my second trimester, and I'm always looking for healthy snacks. My mom suggested grapefruit, but I wanted to be sure if it's good and safe for pregnancy. Are there any particular benefits or things to be careful about?

My mother-in-law suggested sticking to traditional fruits like apples and oranges during my second trimester. However, I asked my gynecologist about grapefruit, and she said a moderate amount is fine but to avoid it if you have acidity. Always check with your doctor during these nine months.

Pregnancy is a time to keep your body calm and cool. Grapefruit is rich in vitamin C and can support immunity, but its sharp, sour nature might trigger heartburn or acid reflux. Enjoy it in very small quantities and practice deep breathing to keep digestion smooth.

Hey! Grapefruit has lots of folic acid which is super awesome for the baby. Just watch out for the sourness because it can cause wild acidity. Wash it well and enjoy your healthy snacking journey!

When we went for our regular checkups at Apollo, the doctor mentioned that while citrus fruits are generally good, grapefruit can interact with certain blood pressure medications if the mother has gestational hypertension. It is best to ask your obstetrician clearly during your next scan visit.

Oh, the pregnancy cravings are so real! If you are craving that tangy, bitter taste of grapefruit, go for it in moderation. Just don't have it on an empty stomach unless you want bad heartburn later. Try sprinkling a tiny bit of black salt on top!
