Is emergen c ok for pregnancy?

Having some cold symptoms and usually rely on Emergen-C, but I just found out I'm pregnant. Can I safely take Emergen-C during pregnancy? My doctor's appointment is next week, so I'm asking here.

When I was pregnant with my second child, I had a bad cold and wanted to take Emergen-C. My doctor strictly said no because the high dose of Vitamin C can sometimes cause stomach issues or interact with other pregnancy vitamins. Please don't take it without asking your doctor.

Please be very careful during pregnancy, even with over-the-counter vitamins. I took some basic immunity boosters during my fifth month without asking and ended up with severe acidity and cramps that landed me in the clinic. Do not take risks, ask your gynaecologist first.

Those imported fizzy packets are quite expensive in India anyway. Pregnancy already involves so many costly scans and blood tests, so why waste money on extra supplements that might not even be safe? Better to stick to cheap and best local nimbu pani.

I use health trackers to log my daily nutrient intake, and honestly, the 1000mg of Vitamin C in Emergen-C is way past the daily recommended limit for pregnant women. Your app or doctor will tell you that normal food gives you more than enough anyway.

In my experience, the body responds best to gentle, natural things during pregnancy. Instead of high-dose fizzy packets, try slow deep breathing exercises like Anulom Vilom to boost immunity naturally. It brings a lot of calm and energy without any chemical load.

I totally get it, you just want a quick energy boost or cold relief when you are already feeling so exhausted during pregnancy. But please avoid Emergen-C packets as the vitamin dosage is too high for a baby. Hang in there, this phase will pass!
