Is eating rice everyday bad for weight loss?

We eat rice almost every day in our household, it's a staple. My nutritionist said I should cut down if I want to lose weight. Is eating rice everyday really bad for weight loss? I find it hard to imagine meals without it.

It is not bad at all. Many of us have eaten rice our whole lives and stayed healthy. Just have it in moderation, maybe a small bowl with lots of veggies.

I manage my BP with daily walking and a balanced diet, and I eat rice daily. The trick is to not keep a sedentary lifestyle. Also, get your routine health checks done regularly to see how your body is processing carbs.

My nutritionist at Max Hospital told me that rice is not the enemy, but the portion size is. If you have any underlying metabolic issues, please consult a qualified dietitian who can make a proper meal plan for your body type.

I am also trying to lose weight and was quite confused about this. People say we should stop rice completely, but is brown rice really a better option for daily eating? I find it hard to give up white rice.

As a vegetarian, rice is a staple, but eating too much plain white rice can slow down weight loss. Try mixing it with some dal or sautéed vegetables to lower the overall glycemic load of your plate.

Honestly, I tried quitting rice for two weeks and got so cranky and weak. Now I eat it every day but in a smaller bowl, and I am still losing weight slowly. Don't torture yourself by quitting your staple food.

Not at all bad. I track my food on HealthifyMe and eat rice every single day while staying in a calorie deficit. Just weigh your cooked rice—100 grams is plenty. Pair it with double the amount of protein and fiber.
