Is creatine safe for pregnancy?

My sister is expecting, and she's a fitness enthusiast. She's worried about losing her strength during pregnancy and was asking about creatine. Can a pregnant woman safely take creatine?

I was actually reading up on this because my friend who loves the gym just got pregnant. There is very little research on creatine safety for pregnant women, so most health experts suggest avoiding it. Better to be safe than sorry!

I get so anxious about even taking a simple paracetamol during pregnancy, so I would definitely stay away from creatine. You never know how it might affect the baby’s organs or your kidney function. Please ask your gynecologist before consuming anything.

My sister was told by her doctor to stop all her gym pre-workouts and creatine when she was expecting. They said simple home food and milk are enough. Better to just listen to the doctor during this time.

Did anyone else's doctor completely ban all protein and workout supplements during pregnancy? I am so scared of taking anything that might cause complications. Please share what your doctors advised.

Look, this is not the time to worry about gym gains or muscle strength. Your body is growing a life, so skip the creatine and stick strictly to what your gynecologist prescribes. No online advice can replace your doctor's word.

I know how stressful it is to adjust your entire lifestyle and fitness routine when you are pregnant. It feels like you are losing your fitness progress, but your baby’s safety is the priority. Please stop creatine and consult your OB-GYN for peace of mind.
