Is cotton mouth a sign of pregnancy?

My periods are late this month, and I've been feeling unusually thirsty and having a dry mouth, like cotton mouth. I'm wondering if this could be a sign. Is cotton mouth a sign of pregnancy?

My wife's cycle tracker app actually flagged dry mouth as a common early symptom due to hormonal shifts and increased blood volume. It's quite common but can also just mean you are mildly dehydrated. Try tracking your daily water intake on an app to see if it helps.

Dry mouth or 'cotton mouth' can happen due to simple things like sleeping with your mouth open, high salt, or weather changes. Don't rely on online forums to confirm a pregnancy based on this. Just buy a simple home pregnancy test kit or consult a gynecologist for a proper blood test.

Sipping warm water with a little lemon or chewing on fennel seeds can help with dry mouth. However, if this dryness is accompanied by extreme thirst or dizziness, please consult a doctor. It is always best to get a medical checkup to find the real cause.

When you are working out or your body is going through hormonal changes, your hydration needs shoot up. Dry mouth is usually just a classic sign of dehydration. Make sure you are drinking enough fluids and electrolytes before assuming anything else.

Haan na, during my first month I also felt my throat and mouth were constantly dry no matter how much water I drank. Hormones can act weird in the beginning. Just keep a bottle of water nearby and don't take stress, everything will be fine.

Hormonal fluctuations during early pregnancy can cause dry mouth, as progesterone levels affect saliva production. My gynecologist mentioned this is fairly common but also advised checking for gestational diabetes if the dry mouth is persistent. It is best to discuss this during your routine checkup.

I don't know much about pregnancy signs, but dry mouth definitely happens to me after eating spicy street food or salty chips at night! If you are pregnant, your taste buds might be changing, making you crave salty foods which leads to this. Keep sipping fresh coconut water!
