Is corn good for pregnancy?

I'm in my first trimester and trying to eat healthy for me and the baby. Is corn considered good for pregnancy, like nutritionally beneficial?

Corn has folic acid which is very good during pregnancy, but if you have gestational diabetes or PCOS, the high starch content can be tricky. It is better to have it in moderate quantities and always discuss it with your gynecologist during your regular checks.

During my pregnancy, I had sudden high blood sugar spikes, and my doctor asked me to restrict starchy foods like corn. Pregnancy is a very sensitive time. Please do not take chances and always consult your obstetrician before adding such carb-rich foods to your daily diet.

I remember worrying about every single food item when I was pregnant, it can be so overwhelming. Sweet corn actually helped me with constipation back then because of the fiber, but I kept the portion small to avoid gas. Be gentle with yourself.

My mother-in-law told me eating corn would make the baby healthy, but my doctor advised me to eat it in moderation because it can cause bloating and gas. It is a good source of folate, but moderate consumption is the key. Trust your doctor's advice above all.

I totally get it, you want to make sure you are eating only what is best for your little one. Boiled corn is generally safe and contains good nutrients like folic acid, but too much of it can cause stomach ache or gas. Try having just half a cup and see how your digestion feels.
