Is collagen safe for fatty liver?

My doctor recently told me I have a fatty liver. I've been trying to improve my skin and hair, and my friend suggested collagen supplements. I'm wondering if taking them would be safe with my condition.

Honestly, collagen supplements are so expensive anyway. Instead of spending 2-3k every month on powders, it is better to spend 500 rupees on a basic LFT and ultrasound first. Once you know the exact grade of your fatty liver from a doc, then you can plan your budget and supplements accordingly.

Don't stress too much about this right now, but please hold off on the collagen for a bit. Our liver is already working overtime when it is fatty, so we shouldn't burden it with extra processed supplements without asking a doctor first. Just focus on simple home food for now while you get it checked.

Bro, I was taking marine collagen last year and then got diagnosed with Grade 1 fatty liver during a random corporate health check. My doctor literally told me to stop all extra protein and collagen powders immediately. He said let the liver heal naturally with diet first, so don't risk it.

It is always better to be safe when it comes to the liver. Maybe skip the collagen for now and ask your family doctor in your next visit. Take care of your health, everything will be fine.

I actually read so many articles on this because I also have fatty liver and wanted to try collagen for my joints. Some sites say it's fine but others say the extra amino acids can put pressure on liver enzymes. Honestly it made me so anxious that I just decided not to buy it at all.

Haan yaar, health rules are so confusing these days na! Fatty liver ke liye directly collagen supplements mat start karo. Pehle doctor se advice le lo, checkup karwa lo, uske baad hi decide karna thoda safe rahega.

With my thyroid issues, I have to be extremely careful about what supplements I take as they can mess with my liver values too. You should get a complete liver function test done first. Take those reports to your doctor and ask if collagen is safe for your specific liver health.

Please don't ignore fatty liver or try to self-manage with random supplements. Years ago, I ignored my slightly elevated liver enzymes and kept taking various fitness supplements, which only made things worse later on. Go get a proper ultrasound and follow whatever advice your doctor gives you.

There is no clear consensus on whether collagen is completely safe or harmful for fatty liver. Since fatty liver is a metabolic condition, introducing any new concentrated supplement can have unforeseen effects. It is honestly best to consult a hepatologist or gastroenterologist before starting.

When I went to Apollo for my annual health checkup, I asked my doctor about collagen because of my liver issues. He clearly told me not to take any unregulated supplements as they can sometimes cause drug-induced liver injury. Please schedule a proper appointment and ask your doctor directly.

I reversed my Grade 2 fatty liver last year, so let me tell you honestly. You do not need collagen or any fancy supplements to fix this. Just cut down on sugar, processed carbs, and alcohol, and walk for 45 minutes daily. That works much better than any supplement you can buy.

I researched this recently because collagen is basically a protein and the liver has to process it. My doctor explained that while natural collagen from bone broth is fine, concentrated supplements might have heavy metals or additives that stress a fatty liver. He strictly advised me to stick to a low-fat diet instead.
