Is carbonated water good for diabetics?

My blood sugar levels have been a bit high lately, and I'm trying to cut down on sugary drinks. I enjoy sparkling water, and it feels like a healthier alternative. Is carbonated water actually good for diabetics, or should I stick to plain water?

I completely understand the anxiety of checking every single drink after being diagnosed. Plain carbonated water is actually safe because it has zero carbs and won't spike your sugar. Just ensure there are no added syrups.

Buying expensive sparkling water is unnecessary when you can buy a simple soda siphon or local soda water bottle for cheap. Just check your sugar using a budget glucometer to confirm it doesn't affect you.

Yes, it is a super cool alternative to sweet sodas! You get that nice fizzy feeling without any of the guilty sugar spikes. I love adding a slice of lime and fresh mint to mine.

Don't just believe people online saying it is healthy or 'good' for diabetes. It is just neutral, it doesn't cure or lower sugar. Verify your diet changes with your doctor or endocrinologist first.

It was so hard for me to give up my evening soft drinks, I felt so isolated at parties. Switching to plain club soda with lemon made me feel like I could still enjoy myself without hurting my health.
