Is baby oil good for eczema?

My baby has some dry patches on their skin, and my mother-in-law suggested putting baby oil. Someone told me it might be eczema, so I wanted to ask, is baby oil good for eczema?

Baby oil is usually not recommended for eczema because it doesn't hydrate the skin deeply and can trap heat. It is much safer to use a doctor-prescribed emollient cream instead.

I tried self-treating my dry patches with baby oil for weeks and it ended up getting severely infected and painful. Please don't repeat my mistake. Go to a doctor and get the right medical ointment immediately.

Hey, don't worry, eczema is very manageable, but baby oil isn't the right solution for it. It just sits on top of the skin without healing it. Let's get a dermatologist to prescribe a proper soothing cream.

Skip the baby oil—it doesn't have the barrier-repairing ingredients eczema needs. Save yourself the trial and error and consult a dermatologist for a proper ceramide-based cream that works quickly.

According to dermatological guidelines, mineral-based baby oils can clog skin pores and worsen eczema flares. Look for fragrance-free oatmeal creams or prescription emollients to treat the skin barrier properly.

My skin went completely crazy when I was binging on oily food, and baby oil only made the itching worse! Definitely skip it and use a proper doctor-prescribed lotion that doesn't feel sticky.
