Is aspartame okay during pregnancy?

I'm pregnant with my first child and trying to be very careful about what I eat and drink. I usually opt for diet drinks, which contain aspartame. Is aspartame okay to have during pregnancy, or should I cut it out completely?

During my wife's pregnancy, her doctor said occasional aspartame in food is fine, but keeping active was more important. She focused on light evening walks and prenatal yoga, which kept her gestational sugar in control naturally. Definitely ask your doc before changing your routine.

I completely understand the anxiety, I literally googled every single ingredient when I was expecting! While most experts say aspartame is safe in small amounts, I felt much better avoiding artificial sweeteners altogether just for my peace of mind. You do what makes you feel safe.

Yes, it is generally considered safe in moderate amounts during pregnancy. Still, always double-check with your gynaecologist to be absolutely sure.

When my wife was pregnant, managing her food mood swings was a full-time job! Her doctor said a little aspartame is perfectly fine, so we didn't stress over a diet soda here and there. Keep things balanced and save your energy for the sleepless nights ahead!

Having PCOS, I had to be very careful with insulin during my pregnancy. My doctor allowed very limited use of aspartame, but I preferred staying cautious and sticking to natural foods. It is a sensitive time, so taking a professional opinion is always the safest bet.

We consulted a senior obstetrician at Kokilaben Hospital, and she clearly told us that FDA clears aspartame as safe for pregnant women. However, she advised against consuming it in large quantities daily. Do ask your doctor for a personalized diet chart.

Don't worry too much! 🥰 An occasional diet drink or sugar-free treat is totally fine and won't harm the baby. Just enjoy this beautiful phase and eat a mix of healthy fruits and veggies! 🍎
