Is acai good for pregnancy?

My sister is pregnant and someone told her about acai bowls for nutrition. She's keen to try but is wondering if it's safe and beneficial during pregnancy. Could you clarify if acai is good for expecting mothers?

My gynaecologist said that while acai berries are rich in antioxidants and vitamins, there isn't extensive research on their specific effects during pregnancy. She advised consuming them in moderation and only in their pure, unsweetened form. Processed acai bowls or juices often have high sugar content, which is not ideal. So, it's a 'maybe' with caution.

I actually asked my doctor about acai when I was pregnant because I love smoothies! She said pure acai, without added sugar, is generally fine because it's packed with nutrients. But to avoid the pre-made bowls or juices which can be full of hidden sugars. So, just be mindful of the form and check with your doc!

Acai berries are generally healthy, full of good stuff like antioxidants. For pregnancy, it's usually safe to consume most fruits in moderation. Just make sure it's the pure berry and not some sugary drink or bowl with added syrups. Always better to quickly confirm with your doctor, just to be on the safe side, okay?

Honestly, at this point, if it's not raw fish or too much caffeine, I'm just trying to survive. Acai has antioxidants, right? So probably good. But please, for the love of sleep, just ask your doctor. My brain can't handle another 'is this safe' debate today.

I've been craving acai but then I get so worried about everything! Is there anything specific in it that could be a problem? Has anyone's doctor told them it's completely safe or completely not safe? The conflicting info online is making me so anxious!

Oh, I also wanted to know this. I like acai bowls but I'm trying to be careful. Is it only the added sugar that's the issue, or something else about acai itself for pregnancy? I'm so confused about what I can and can't eat.
