Is a common cold a sign of pregnancy?

I've been trying to get pregnant, and lately I've had a cold. My friend joked that maybe it's a sign of pregnancy. Is a common cold really a possible early sign of pregnancy, or is that just an old wives' tale?

Sometimes when a new life is beginning, the mother's immunity naturally goes down to protect the baby, which can make you catch a cold easily. Stay positive, keep your mind calm, and let nature do its beautiful work.

It can actually be an indirect sign because early pregnancy lowers your immunity, making you prone to sniffles. If you are feeling up to it and your doctor greenlights it, a light 15-minute walk can help clear your head and keep your blood flowing.

Yes, a lot of women experience what we call 'pregnancy rhinitis' or just catch a cold very early on due to hormonal shifts. It's very common, so don't worry. Keep sipping warm water and take a home pregnancy test if your period is late.

Honestly, I was researching this exact same thing yesterday! It seems 'pregnancy glow' is sometimes just a runny nose because of increased blood flow to the nasal passages. It's so fascinating how the body reacts.

Yes, early hormonal changes can definitely cause nasal congestion. Take plenty of rest and try steam inhalation for relief.
