Is 99.1 a fever for a child underarm?

My daughter's underarm temperature is 99.1. Is 99.1 a fever for a child when measured underarm? Her school has a strict policy, so I need to know.

Underarm readings are usually a bit lower than oral ones, so 99.1 can be a very mild warmness. When my daughter gets this, I don't give medicine immediately. I just wipe her forehead with a damp cotton cloth and keep her in light clothes. Just watch how they are playing and eating.

Honestly, I always get a bit nervous with kids' temperatures. 99.1 underarm is slightly elevated but maybe not a full-blown fever. Since I am not an expert, I usually just message my pediatrician to be safe before trying anything on my own.

Beta, in our times we used to see if the child is active or looking dull. 99.1 underarm is just a minor warmness, nothing to panic about at all. Give them warm water to drink and let them rest. If it rises or they look tired, then consult a doctor.

For kids, keeping them hydrated is the most important thing during these mild temperature spikes. Make sure you don't load them up with sugary juices thinking it will give energy, plain water or light coconut water is much better. Keep a close watch on the thermometer.

I am actually quite new to parenting things and always get confused about underarm vs oral readings. Is 99.1 considered totally normal for some kids during afternoons? Please let me know what your doctor says if you call them.
