Is 1500 calories good for weight loss?

Been trying to get fit for my sister's wedding. Someone told me to stick to 1500 calories a day to lose weight. Is this a good number or is it too less?

Beti, har sharir alag hota hai. 1500 calories kisi ke liye kam ho sakti hai, kisi ke liye theek. Hamare ghar mein toh bolte hain, khana pet bhar ke khao par healthy khao. Aur thoda subah sham chalna bhi achha rehta hai, bina tension liye.

I was discussing this with my doctor recently. He said 1500 calories is often a good deficit for many adults to lose weight, but it's a general guideline. Your age, gender, metabolic rate, and daily activity all play a big role. He suggested using a TDEE calculator first to know your maintenance calories, then reducing from there.

Honestly, when I first heard 1500 calories, I freaked out thinking it was too little! But then I tracked my food, and realised I was eating way more junk. When I switched to healthier, filling options, it felt much more manageable. You just need to be smart about your food choices.

Bhai, gaon mein toh log mehnat zyada karte hain, toh weight ki problem kam hoti hai. Par shehron mein sedentary lifestyle hai na. Dekho, khaana kam karo, par pet bhara rehna chahiye ache khane se. Aur thodi chalne ki aadat daalo, sab theek ho jayega. Stress mat lena.

I use MyFitnessPal, and it suggested a similar calorie target for me when I started my weight loss journey. It works, but you have to be consistent and track accurately. Also, ensure you're getting enough protein so you don't lose muscle instead of fat. Apps really help keep you accountable!

For weight loss, a calorie deficit is definitely needed. 1500 might be a good starting point, but combine it with some exercise. Even a good 45-minute walk daily can make a huge difference. Building muscle also helps burn more calories at rest, so maybe some bodyweight exercises too, if your doctor says okay.
