How to use nizoral shampoo for hair loss?

My hair has been thinning a lot lately, and a friend recommended Nizoral shampoo. I picked up a bottle, but I'm not sure if there's a specific way to use it for hair loss beyond regular shampooing. How often should I use it?

I use Nizoral twice a week to keep my scalp clean because sweating during workouts causes dandruff and hair fall. You just apply it, let it sit on your scalp for 5 minutes, and then rinse. But remember, a clean scalp is only half the battle; make sure you eat enough protein and micro-nutrients to support hair growth.

Nizoral has 2% ketoconazole, which is an antifungal that helps reduce scalp inflammation and hair fall. Wet your hair, apply a small amount to the scalp, lather well, and leave it for 3 to 5 minutes before washing. Don't use it every day, and make sure it doesn't get into your eyes as it burns quite a bit.

My hair fall was terrible because of a fungal scalp infection. My dermatologist recommended Nizoral shampoo twice a week for a month. It worked wonders and stopped the itching and shedding completely. Now my hair feels much healthier and I only use it once in two weeks for maintenance.

I have been dealing with male pattern baldness and Nizoral is a lifesaver. Use it only 2 times a week, as using it daily will make your hair extremely dry and brittle like straw. Massage it gently into the scalp, leave it for exactly 5 minutes so the ketoconazole can work, and then use a good conditioner on the tips.

I am thinking of buying Nizoral shampoo because my hair is thinning rapidly, but I am scared it might cause more hair to fall out initially. Has anyone else noticed increased shedding when they first started using it? I really don't want to make my bald spot worse.
