How to treat hip arthritis without surgery?

My father has really bad hip arthritis, and the doctors are suggesting surgery. He's quite old, so we are worried about the risks. Is there any way to manage it without going for an operation?

Look, if the cartilage is completely gone, surgery might be the only permanent way. But if it's early stage, you can manage without surgery by losing weight and doing regular leg strengthening exercises. Go meet a genuine physical therapist first.

According to my orthopedic surgeon, non-surgical management involves a combination of targeted physical therapy, weight reduction, and anti-inflammatory support. He emphasized that strengthening the glutes and quadriceps helps offload the pressure from the hip joint. We also discussed using a walking aid during flare-ups.

Strengthening the muscles around the joint is a game changer for hip pain. Focus on low-impact stuff like cycling, swimming, and glute bridges if they don't hurt. Also, eating anti-inflammatory foods like turmeric and keeping body weight in check reduces joint stress.

My grandmother used to recommend warm herbal poultice for joint pains. While that gives temporary relief, we must listen to our orthopedic specialist. They usually suggest targeted exercises and safe pain relief methods before thinking of surgery.

Haan na, everyone wants to avoid surgery if possible. My uncle managed his hip pain for five years just with regular physiotherapy and weight loss. You should definitely try these non-surgical methods first.

I can only share what worked for my mother. She took daily prescribed calcium supplements, did mild walking, and used a heating pad for 15 minutes before sleeping. It kept her pain under control without needing any surgical procedures.

Most people can manage early to moderate hip arthritis without surgery. The key is consistent low-impact exercises, maintaining a healthy weight, and using hot/cold therapy for flare-ups. Always work with a certified physiotherapist to plan your routine.

I tried avoiding surgery for too long using alternative therapies, but it damaged my walking posture and caused severe spine issues later. Please don't blindly avoid medical advice. If the joint damage is severe, postponing surgery might cause more complications.

My dad has this issue and he strictly avoids surgery. He does these basic leg raises and glute exercises every morning. It seems to work well for him as long as he doesn't sit continuously for hours.

Actually, losing even 3-4 kgs makes a huge difference to the hip joints, yaar. My mom did that along with some daily basic stretches, and her pain reduced by half. Try to avoid high-impact jumping and stick to walking.

Our bodies start demanding maintenance like an old car after 50. I am managing my hip stiffness with daily hot water fermentation and lazy stretching. It is a slow process, but better than going under the knife!

Applying warm mustard oil with camphor can soothe the hip area during winter stiffness. However, if the pain is making you limp, please consult a good doctor. Natural tips are good for support, but actual medical advice is necessary.

Physiotherapy se kafi relief mil jata hai, haan. You should try doing hydrotherapy or swimming if there's a pool nearby, as water reduces body weight on joints. But regular checkups with an ortho are must, na.

Gentle yoga poses like Badhakonasana and simple hip openers, done under expert guidance, can improve joint lubrication. Couple this with deep breathing pranayama to manage pain naturally. It takes patience but helps the joints stay mobile.
