How to tape knee for knee pain?

My knees have been bothering me after my gym sessions. My trainer suggested taping them. How do I properly tape my knee for general knee pain, especially around the patella?

For basic patellar support, take two strips of kinesiology tape. Bend your knee at 90 degrees, place the first strip in a 'U' shape just below the kneecap curving upwards, and the second one crossing over it. It takes the pressure off the joint, but don't wrap it so tight that your leg swells up.

I just recovered from a runner's knee issue last month. Taping the kneecap to the side using KT tape really helped stabilize it while I was walking. But honestly, the real recovery happened when I did my physio exercises daily, so do see a doctor for a proper plan.

It is so hard when your knees hurt and walking becomes a struggle. Try a simple light crepe bandage or soft tape around the knee to keep it warm and supported. Take rest today and don't strain yourself too much.

Look, if your knee is swollen and hurting badly, no fancy tape is going to fix a torn ligament. Tape it lightly for support today so you can walk, but go see an orthopedic doctor tomorrow and get an X-ray or MRI done. Don't neglect your joints.

Our knees bear the entire weight of our life's journey. Along with a gentle supportive tape, try sitting quietly and doing light leg extensions while sitting on a chair. Gentle movements and deep breathing can bring back the lubrication in the joints naturally.
