How to stop weight gain with hashimoto's?

My Hashimoto's diagnosis has made managing my weight really difficult; it feels like I gain weight just by looking at food. What strategies can help me prevent further weight gain with this condition?

I was struggling with Hashimoto's weight gain for over a year and nothing worked until my doctor fixed my TSH levels. Along with the right dosage, cutting down on gluten and processed sugar made a huge difference. I finally lost 8 kgs and my energy levels are back.

I highly recommend using a calorie and macro tracker app to monitor what you eat daily. With Hashimoto's, our metabolism is slow, so even a small surplus can lead to weight gain. Tracking my steps with a fitness band also helped me stay active throughout the day.

It is honestly so tough to deal with this, stay strong! Just focus on taking your thyroid meds properly on an empty stomach every morning.

Being a hardcore foodie with Hashimoto's is a curse, literally everything has gluten or dairy! But honestly, I started making gluten-free versions of my favorite Indian dishes at home. Swapping white rice for brown rice and using less oil keeps my cravings happy without bloating me up.

With Hashimoto's, your antibodies fluctuate a lot, so please get your TSH, Free T3, and Free T4 tested every three months. I used to ignore my tests and kept gaining weight despite dieting. Only a doctor can adjust your thyroxine dose properly to stop the weight gain.

Man, between Hashimoto's fatigue and my late-night shifts, I barely have energy to breathe, let alone cook healthy. I just try not to order burgers at 2 AM when insomnia hits. If anyone finds a magic cure for this tiredness and bloating, please let me know too!
