How to stop weight gain during perimenopause?

I'm in my late 40s and going through perimenopause, and suddenly I'm gaining weight around my tummy. It's so frustrating because my diet hasn't really changed much. What can I do to prevent this?

Perimenopause can start in your early 40s and causes highly fluctuating hormone levels, which slows your metabolism. The most practical solution is to focus on portion control and reduce processed sugar. Keep yourself active and don't let these changes stress you out too much.

I was actually researching perimenopause for my mother recently. Studies show that muscle mass naturally decreases during this time, which burns fewer calories. It seems adding simple resistance band exercises at home can really help in preventing this gradual weight gain.

I panicked completely when I started gaining weight around my waist for no reason in my late 40s. But once I realized it was just perimenopause, I stopped stressing. I adjusted my sleep schedule, started walking daily, and my weight finally stopped increasing.

In our family, the women always relied on traditional warm herb infusions like cumin and fennel water to help with digestion during their later years. Along with these traditional remedies, keeping a simple, active routine and eating light dinners before sunset works wonders.

I completely agree with the focus on portion control. Cutting down evening carbs slightly has really helped my wife manage her weight during this phase.
