You can try incorporating natural metabolism boosters like warm lemon-water in the morning and drinking green tea. However, a hysterectomy causes major hormonal shifts, so if you notice sudden, rapid weight gain, please see your doctor. It could indicate that your thyroid or hormone levels need medical balance.

Since I already have thyroid issues, my hormone balance was completely disrupted after my surgery, leading to quick weight gain. I highly suggest getting regular thyroid and endocrine tests done post-surgery. Regular follow-ups with your doctor will help you manage these changes much better.

I gained nearly 8 kgs after my hysterectomy, but I managed to control it with a strict low-carb diet and daily 45-minute walks. The drop in estrogen slows down your metabolism, so you must adjust your daily calorie intake. Be consistent with your movement and the weight will stabilize.

When I asked about post-hysterectomy weight gain, my doctor explained that if the ovaries are removed, it triggers immediate menopause, which alters fat distribution. She advised focusing on strength training to preserve muscle mass and eating calcium-rich, low-fat foods. It is a slow process, so give your body time to adapt.

Weight gain after a hysterectomy is incredibly common due to sudden hormonal changes. Please don't be too hard on yourself while your body is still healing.

A hysterectomy is a major surgical procedure and your body needs safe, guided recovery. Before starting any weight-loss diet or exercise routine, please get checked by your gynecologist. Your health and proper internal healing should always be the top priority.
