My grandmother used to give me dry ginger water to sip first thing in the morning. While that home tip helped calm my stomach, I strictly followed my gynecologist's prescribed safe anti-vomiting medicines for the first trimester. Balancing both kept me healthy.

Oh sweetheart, don't stress too much, this first trimester phase is so hard but it does pass! Try keeping some dry biscuits or cream crackers right by your bed and eat one before you even sit up in the morning. It really helps absorb the stomach acid.

I used to panic and cry thinking my baby wasn't getting any nutrition because I couldn't keep even water down. But my doctor reassured me it's very common and the baby is safe. Once I started eating small, frequent meals instead of three big ones, it got much better.

Sucking on a lemon slice or smelling fresh mint leaves can instantly reduce that nauseous feeling. Try to avoid spicy and greasy foods completely. But if you cannot even keep water down for 24 hours, please visit your doctor immediately to avoid dehydration.

While lifestyle adjustments like staying hydrated and eating dry toast help, severe morning sickness (hyperemesis gravidarum) requires medical supervision. Please consult your obstetrician for safe antiemetics rather than self-treating, as keeping yourself hydrated is crucial for the baby.

Severe vomiting during my pregnancy was actually linked to my thyroid levels acting up. I highly suggest getting your TSH levels checked along with your routine pregnancy blood tests. Proper thyroid medication under your doctor's guidance can help ease the morning sickness.
