A warm saltwater rinse is the safest home remedy to reduce sudden sensitivity and clean any debris. Another practical tip is to apply a tiny amount of desensitizing toothpaste directly on the sensitive area and leave it for a few minutes before rinsing. If the pain persists for more than a few days, please visit a dentist.

I was reading online that rinsing with a very diluted hydrogen peroxide solution or green tea can help soothe dental sensitivity due to their anti-inflammatory properties. Have you tried changing your toothbrush to an ultra-soft one? Apparently, hard brushing is the biggest reason for enamel wear and sensitivity.

I totally get it, that sudden sharp shock in your tooth when you eat something cold is absolutely awful and ruins your mood instantly. While pressing a clove on the tooth can give a bit of temporary comfort, please don't rely only on home remedies for too long. Do book an appointment with a dentist to get it checked.

Sensitive teeth make you feel like you are doing a dramatic action scene every time you drink cold water! Chewing on a clove might make you smell like a spice market, but it does temporarily numb the pain. Just go to a dentist before you end up avoiding your favorite ice creams forever.

My health app's dental symptom checker suggested that using a warm saltwater rinse helps balance the pH level in the mouth and reduces sensitivity. I tried it and it definitely gave me quick, temporary relief. However, the app also highlighted that only a dentist can fix the underlying enamel loss or decay, so do get a checkup.
