How to stop perimenopause weight gain?

I've noticed I'm gaining weight quite easily now that I'm in perimenopause, even though my eating habits haven't changed much. It's disheartening and I want to get it under control. What can I do to stop perimenopause weight gain?

Haan na, the belly fat just refuses to go during this time no matter what we do. I have started reducing my evening heavy meals and focus on simple light food like khichdi or soup. It helps with the bloating and sleep also.

In our times, we used to drink warm water with jeera and fennel seeds after meals to keep the digestion strong. The body's fire slows down at this age, so we must eat lesser portions of heavy grains and avoid cold foods. Keep your body active by doing light household chores daily.

Since I sit at a desk for 9 hours, weight gain was inevitable during perimenopause. I bought a standing desk converter and make it a point to stand during my team calls. Simple adjustments to keep moving during a busy workday are the only realistic way.

I am so worried about this too, I keep tracking my weight every morning and get anxious if it goes up even a bit. I read that high stress makes us gain more fat around the waist. I'm trying to do deep breathing now to keep my mind calm, hope it helps us both.

Bahut pareshani hoti hai is umar mein, hum samajhte hain. Just try to stop eating packed chips and biscuits from the market completely. Eat fresh seasonal fruits and ghar ka simple khana, and go for a long walk in the fresh air every morning.

The secret to beating hormonal slowdown is strength training. You don't have to lift super heavy, just start with light dumbbells or bodyweight squats twice a week. It keeps your bones strong and boosts your resting metabolic rate.

I remember crying when none of my old sarees fit me during my late 40s. But let me tell you, your body is just adjusting to a big life change, so do not hate it. Once I accepted the change and started walking regularly with my friends, my weight stabilized naturally.

Make sure you are getting enough protein from vegetarian sources like paneer, curd, and sprouts, as our muscle mass decreases during perimenopause. Decreased muscle slows down our metabolism. Try to minimize refined oil and sugar strictly.
