How to stop hormonal weight gain?

Despite eating healthy and exercising, I've noticed a lot of weight gain, especially around my midsection, which my doctor linked to hormonal imbalances. What can I do to stop this hormonal weight gain? It's very frustrating.

Hormonal weight gain is often linked to insulin resistance, especially in conditions like PCOS. Cutting down on refined sugars and simple carbs is absolutely critical, similar to diabetes management. Focus on high protein, high fiber foods. And regular exercise helps sensitize your body to insulin. Always consult an endocrinologist; a proper diagnosis is the first step.

Oh my god, I feel like this is happening to me too! My weight just crept up and nothing seems to work. Has anyone else felt like their body is just not responding to diet and exercise the way it used to? It's so frustrating and makes me worry a lot. Is it really just hormonal?

Hormonal weight gain is really tough because it feels like it's out of your control, which makes you overthink everything you eat. The first thing is to get proper blood tests for your hormones (thyroid, insulin, cortisol, etc.). Don't just assume. Then, focus on stress management, good sleep, and gentle exercise, alongside a diet recommended by a nutritionist who understands hormonal issues. It takes time, so be patient.

I'm just learning about this, it sounds complicated. Does this mean diet and exercise alone won't work? Do we need to see special doctors for this, or just a general physician? I'm curious to know more.

Hormonal weight gain? Is that what's happening to me? I thought it was just too much biryani and too little sleep. Haha. But seriously, if it's hormonal, I guess diet and exercise might not be enough. Maybe I should finally see a doctor instead of just blaming my metabolism and my late-night snacking.

Beta, sometimes our body changes with age or after having children, and weight increases because of 'hormones'. It's not your fault. Try to eat ghar ka khana, walk every day a little, and sleep properly. Most importantly, consult a lady doctor, she will tell you what's right for your body. Don't feel bad about it.

My endocrinologist explained that hormonal weight gain isn't just about 'eating less, moving more.' It's about optimizing your hormonal environment. For me, that meant focusing on low GI foods to manage insulin, prioritizing sleep to regulate cortisol, and consistent strength training. He also emphasized managing stress, as cortisol is a huge factor. It's a holistic approach, not a quick fix.
