How to stop facial hair growth due to pcos?

I was diagnosed with PCOS a few years ago, and one of the most frustrating symptoms is the increased facial hair growth, especially on my chin and upper lip. I feel very self-conscious about it. How can I stop facial hair growth due to PCOS?

My endocrinologist explained that for PCOS-related facial hair (hirsutism), the primary approach is to manage the underlying hormonal imbalance. This often involves oral contraceptives to regulate hormones, or anti-androgen medications like spironolactone. Laser hair removal or electrolysis can also offer long-term cosmetic solutions, but it's crucial to address the internal cause first for sustained results.

Please, please don't just pick up random remedies from the internet for something like PCOS. It's a serious hormonal issue. While some cosmetic procedures exist, they might not work if the root cause isn't addressed. Always, always verify with a gynecologist or endocrinologist before trying anything. Self-medication or unverified remedies can cause more harm.

Beti, I know it can be very troubling. Many girls in our village also face this. For some, eating healthier and trying some ubtans help a little with the hair becoming softer. But for PCOS, it's best to talk to a lady doctor, she will guide you properly. Don't feel alone in this.

Ugh, this is one of my biggest anxieties with PCOS, the facial hair. It makes you feel so self-conscious. I constantly worry about it. It's important to know you're not alone. I've heard doctors often recommend certain medications to help control the hormones, and then maybe laser for the hair itself. Don't let it get you down too much, okay?

Okay, so for PCOS related facial hair, you absolutely need to see a gynecologist or an endocrinologist. They'll prescribe medication, often hormonal, to manage the underlying issue. For actual hair removal, laser is the most effective long-term solution. Don't waste time on temporary fixes. Get a proper diagnosis and treatment plan.

Hi, I'm new to understanding PCOS. Is it true that diet changes can also help with this facial hair, or is it mostly about medicine? I'm a bit nervous about starting hormonal treatments. Any gentle tips that might support the main treatment? Thank you.

Oh, I totally panicked when I first started seeing facial hair because of PCOS! I thought it was the end of the world. But it's actually a very common symptom, and many women manage it effectively. The most important step is getting proper medical advice for managing your PCOS, which will in turn help with the hair growth. Don't feel ashamed or embarrassed, it's just your body reacting to hormones.

Welcome to the club, unfortunately! PCOS and hirsutism is a common concern. From what I've seen across many discussions here, the best approach is always a combination: medical management from a gynaecologist/endocrinologist for the hormones, and then effective hair removal methods like laser for the hair itself. Diet and exercise also play a huge role in managing PCOS overall. Be patient with your body.

Haan, yaar, PCOS ke wajah se facial hair toh bahut common problem hai. Meri didi ko bhi tha. Doctor ne usko medicines di thi hormonal balance ke liye. Uss se thoda control hua. Aur fir usne laser karaya. Waise na, ghar ke nuskhe utna kaam nahi karte isme, doctor ko hi dikhana better hai.
