How to sleep after varicose vein surgery?

My father underwent varicose vein surgery yesterday. He's finding it hard to sleep due to the slight discomfort and the need to keep his leg elevated. What's the best way for him to sleep comfortably and ensure proper recovery?

Yo, after my varicose vein procedure, the doc said elevate the legs, always. So I used a couple of pillows under my calves at night. It actually felt pretty good and helped with the swelling. Just don't let them hang off the bed, proper support, ya know?

It's completely understandable to feel concerned about how to sleep comfortably and safely after varicose vein surgery. The anxiety about pain or making things worse can really impact your rest. Just focus on gentle elevation of your legs, and remember that your body is healing. Be kind to yourself.

Varicose vein surgery, huh? Get ready to become best friends with pillows under your legs! My legs felt like heavy bricks after mine. It's a bit like sleeping on a slight incline, but it really helps. You might feel like a human ramp, but at least your legs will thank you in the morning!

I literally just went through this! The key for me was definitely keeping my legs elevated above my heart. I used a wedge pillow designed for leg elevation. Also, make sure your compression stockings are on, if your doctor prescribed them, even for sleeping. It made a huge difference in reducing discomfort and swelling for me.
