How to sleep after meniscus surgery?

I underwent meniscus surgery on my knee last week. The doctor told me to avoid twisting my knee, especially while sleeping. I'm a restless sleeper, so this is hard. Any advice on how to sleep safely after meniscus surgery?

After meniscus surgery, you really need to protect that knee. The best way is often to keep it elevated and still. Try sleeping on your back with a pillow or two under your calf. It might feel a bit awkward at first, but it helps with swelling and keeps the knee in a good position for healing. Be patient, it will get easier.

It's completely normal to be worried about how to sleep after such a delicate surgery. I can understand that anxiety of accidentally moving or hurting yourself in your sleep. Just try to focus on making your immediate sleep space as safe and supportive as possible. A bolster or pillows to prevent rolling might help ease your mind.

Bhai, meniscus surgery means no funny business with that knee. Keep it straight, keep it elevated. Doctor must have told you. Sleep on your back only, with pillows under the leg to prevent bending. Painkillers on time. Don't try any acrobatics.

Aiyo, meniscus surgery is a delicate one. My amma used to say, 'rest is the best medicine,' and it's true. But please, listen to your doctor above all. My family would suggest sleeping on the back with leg elevated for better circulation, but your specific case might need something different. Always double check with the doc, ma.

Healing takes time and proper care. Just like with my thyroid, consistency in following medical advice is key. For your knee, please make sure you're regularly following up with your surgeon and physiotherapist. If sleep is a problem because of pain, don't hesitate to ask them about pain management options. Don't take risks with recovery.
