How to sleep after gallbladder removal?

My mother had her gallbladder removed last week, and she's struggling with sleep due to the discomfort from the incision. She normally sleeps on her stomach. What sleeping positions are safe and comfortable after gallbladder surgery?

After gallbladder removal, I was so worried about sleeping! Did anyone else feel like their stomach was super sensitive? I ended up sleeping on my back with a soft pillow under my knees to relieve pressure on my abdomen. And moving slowly was key, even in bed. It's tough initially.

After any abdominal surgery like gallbladder removal, it's very important to avoid pressure on the incision sites. Your doctor should have given specific instructions. If you're experiencing pain or difficulty finding a comfortable position, or if you notice any new symptoms, don't hesitate to call your surgeon. Complications can arise if you don't heal properly.

Oh, I completely understand the worry! I overthink everything about health. After gallbladder removal, it's usually recommended to sleep on your back for the first few days to protect the incisions. You can use pillows to support your sides so you don't accidentally roll over. It's just for a bit, you'll get through it!

Recovery post-surgery is crucial for everyone. For gallbladder removal, they usually say back sleeping is best to protect the incisions. Once your doctor clears it, even short, gentle walks can help with gas and overall circulation, which can improve sleep quality. Don't push it too hard though, listen to your body.

Beta, after such a surgery, the body needs gentle care. Try sleeping on your back, keeping your stomach soft. A warm, not hot, compress on the abdomen might give some comfort before sleep, but only if your doctor permits and the incision is fully closed. Take your medicines and rest well.

Please be very diligent with post-op care. I once ignored some discomfort after a minor procedure, and it led to prolonged healing. After gallbladder removal, it's vital to protect your incision. Stick to the doctor's sleeping position advice, usually on your back, and if you have unusual pain or swelling, get it checked immediately. Don't take chances.
