How to run and avoid knee pain?

I love running, but lately, I've been experiencing knee pain after my runs, which makes me want to stop. I don't want to give it up. What are the best techniques or stretches to use so I can run and avoid knee pain?

First, invest in a proper pair of running shoes that suit your pronation, don't just use random sneakers. Second, avoid concrete roads and run on dirt tracks or synthetic loops. If your knees hurt, your form is probably wrong or you are overstriding.

In my experience, knee pain usually happens when your thigh and hip muscles are weak. Focus on strength training like squats and lunges twice a week to support your knee joints. Also, increase your running distance gradually, not all at once.

I tracked my stride rate on my smartwatch and realized I was taking too long steps, which put heavy impact on my knees. Try to increase your cadence to about 170-180 steps per minute. Also, never skip warming up and stretching your quads and hamstrings before a run.

Yaar, actually we ignore leg day and then complain about knee pain while running. Start strengthening your glutes and calves, it makes a huge difference. And please stop running on hard cement pavements, it ruins the joints.

I know how heartbreaking it is when you want to run but your knees just give up, it used to make me feel so helpless. Please listen to your body and stop running immediately if you feel sharp pain. Resting and ice fermentation helped me recover slowly.

At my age, I have realized that running fast is not as important as running safe. Focus on soft landings and keep your knees slightly bent. If running hurts too much, switch to brisk walking or swimming to save your joints.
