How to relieve wisdom tooth pain before removal?

My wisdom tooth is coming in and it's causing quite a bit of throbbing pain, especially at night. I have an appointment for removal next week, but until then, what can I do to relieve this pain?

Avoid eating anything hard, hot, or spicy right now as it will irritate the gums around the wisdom tooth. Stick to soft, simple vegetarian food like cold curd rice, mashed bananas, or warm dal khichdi. It keeps the pressure off the jaw.

I had my wisdom tooth removed last winter and the pain before that was so bad. Doing warm salt water rinses 4-5 times a day really helped reduce the swelling. Also, sleeping with an extra pillow to keep my head elevated made nights a bit easier.

When you have intense tooth pain, skip heavy lifting at the gym because clenching your jaw during heavy lifts will make the throbbing worse. Stick to light cardio or mobility work, and eat protein-rich soft foods like paneer or protein shakes to keep your nutrition up.

Dude, don't stress too much, wisdom tooth pain is super common and we all go through it. Just press an ice pack on your jaw and take some rest. Once the dentist pulls it out, you can eat all the ice cream you want!

I found that a gentle, slow walk outside helped distract me from the constant throbbing pain in my jaw. Don't do any strenuous exercise that increases blood circulation too much, as that can intensify the throbbing. Check with your dentist about what is safe.

No need to buy fancy pain gels for temporary relief. Just gargle with simple warm water mixed with half a teaspoon of salt after every meal to keep food from getting stuck there. It is cheap, easy, and very effective.

I kept worrying that the tooth infection would spread to my brain or jawbone when my wisdom tooth started hurting. Please don't panic like I did, just apply an ice pack on your cheek to numb the area. Definitely make sure to see your dentist soon so they can guide you safely.

Please try putting a single clove (laung) near the painful tooth and hold it there gently. The natural oil in the clove helps to temporarily numb the pain. Rest well and try to avoid talking too much today.
